Lie: I cannot go to church it is for two parent families. Truth: The church is made up of many parts and each one of us has a part in it (1 Cor. 12:27).
Lie: If I find another man, I will be happy again. Truth: Joy comes from the Lord (Ps. 16:11, Neh. 8:10).
Lie: God will stop loving me just like others have. Truth: He will never stop loving you (Ps. 118).
Lie: God cannot be a Father to the fatherless. Truth: God promises to be a Father to the fatherless (Ps. 68:5).
Lie: If I just had more money, I would be happy. Truth: Money can never satisfy. (Eccl. 5:10).
Lie: God will let me down too. Truth: God is always faithful (Deut. 7:9).
Lie: No one knows my pain. Truth: God hears your cries (Ps. 116:1).
Lie: The body of Christ does not need me. Truth: Each person has their own gift from God and is part of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 7:7, 1 Cor. 12:27).
Lie: I cannot escape the trouble around me. Truth: God is a strong tower of protection for you (Prov. 18:10) and He is ABLE to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20-21).
Lie: I need to do anything it takes to get a man. After all, the competition will. Truth: You defile yourself as a prostitute when you give your body away (Ps. 106:39).
Lie: I am only as good as I am sexually desirable. Truth: Beauty and charm are fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised (Prov. 31:30).
Lie: I need to know if we are sexually compatible before I remarry him. Truth: Having sex before marriage is a fleshly desire which is contrary to the Word of God and to the Spirit (Gal. 5:19). God made male and female and He will be faithful to make them one within marriage (Gen. 2:24).
Lie: I have no one to help me. Truth: God is refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Pro. 46:1). He is your help and shield (Ps. 115:9).
Lie: I will never have peace. Truth: God will give you everlasting peace (John 14:27).
Lie: I will never be happy. Truth: God will give you joy that no one can take away (John 16:22).
Lie: I will never rest. Truth: God offers you rest if you run to Him (Ps. 91). He will give you sweet sleep (Prov. 3:24). Ask. God will comfort you (Ps. 119:50).
Lie: God meant to harm me. Truth: His desire is to bless you (Deut. 7:13) with more than you can ask or imagine (1 Cor. 2:9).
Lie: I can’t trust God now. Truth: God blesses you if you trust in Him (Ps 84:12).
Lie: I am all the bad things I have done. Truth: God made you a new creation and gives you righteousness as His child (2 Cor. 5:17). He is gracious and compassionate (Ps. 111:4).
Lie: God will always be disappointed in me. Truth: God rejoices over you (Isa. 62:5). He is mighty and He sings over you (Zeph. 3:17). When we ask for forgiveness, He will remember our sins no more (Isa. 43:25).
Lie: God doesn’t love me. Truth: God is love (1 John 4:16).
Lie: God is not good. Truth: He is good and what He does is good (Ps. 119:68).
Lie: God cannot forgive me. Truth: He is rich in mercy (Eph. 2:4).
Lie: I need to love God for Him to love me. Truth: He loved you first (1 John 4:10).
Lie: God doesn’t care about me. Truth: He sent His Son to die for you (John 3:16).
Lie: There is no hope for me. Truth: God has delivered your soul from death (Ps. 116:8).
Lie: I am all alone. Truth: God is always with you (Isa. 43:1-2).
Lie: I cannot know what God wants me to do. Truth: God reveals Himself to you if you seek Him (Prov. 8:17).
Lie: God doesn’t know how to help me. Truth: God knows what you need before you ask Him (Matt. 6:8).
Lie: God doesn’t hear me when I pray. Truth: God hears your prayers (Prov. 15:29).
Lie: I simply cannot make it. Truth: God knows what you need and He will provide for you (Matt. 6:31-32).
Lie: There is no way to know what to do. Truth: God will direct your steps when you seek Him (Prov. 3:5-6).
Lie: I have no hope. Truth: He gives you hope and grace (2 Thess. 2:16).
